  1. Thanks Bob, for sharing this...very interesting but surely not accurate, due to under diagnosis. 14 cases confirmed in Placer County from 2002 to 2011. A huge number of ticks, but few reported cases. I can tell you my Dad's doctors ALL shunned my suggestion that my Dad, who is now 93 has late stage Lyme due to his very HIGH lifelong exposure levels, and numerous classic symptoms, health issues dating back many years now. One Doctor rolled his eyes in a loop, one completely ignored me, another, laughed nervously. Primary, Cardio, Ophthalmologist. The VA doctor took notes, made NO recommend, did not enter into conversation with me. I've read about myself on reports too: "Daughter seems preoccupied with ticks". "preoccupied" was simply bringing the subject up. Nice, huh? They statisticians should have hooked up with me, I could have added to their collection efforts. My Dad's brain, eyes, ears, heart, affected. He is no candidate for treatment, but California is dragging it's feet, needs to wake up to reality, and begin to face the truth.
